Jakarta – In order to support Palestinian independence, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan built his ties with the Chairman of the National Committee for the Palestinian People’s (KNRP) Suripto in Cipete, Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, 15 of March. Anies was happily draped the Indonesian-Palestinian knitted-scarf around his neck and received a frame of Al-Aqsa Mosque Complex from Suripto.
“Alhamdulillah, KNRP just got a chance to meet with Mr. Anies. This meeting is a form of support from Mr. Anies to the Palestinian people and Al-Aqsa Mosque, “said Secretary General KNRP, Suhartono who accompanied Suripto on Saturday 17th of March at the office of KNRP, South Jakarta.
Anies who wore batik were impressed by the framed Al-Aqsa Mosque Complex and its pulpit he received. Suripto also told a brief history of Al-Aqsa Mosque which is located in the heart of Palestine.
“We convey that one of the traces of the history of Indonesia is the pulpit of Al-Aqsa Mosque carved and engraved by hands of Indonesian artists, Mr. Thalib and his fellow citizens of Jepara. And we have given the replica symbolically to Mr. Anies, “added Suhartono.
