Become a Present Generation

When we encounter negative or deteriorating conditions, we often use a futuristic motivational approach. For example, when looking at Muslim conditions in general in the East, West, North and South, almost everything seems to be stigmatized negatively. Not to mention, if we talk about the humanitarian crisis of this century. Syria and Rohingya, are the big issues that add up to the previous serious issues, Palestine which also has not seen the solution. Usually, to solace often we divert the fighting spirit to the generation after us. Therefore automatically, it’s like saying that we are not present as a solution. Or hesitant appear to provide solutions and just a lot of hope in future generations.

If this relay continues, then it is possible that the same constraints will be experienced by the generation after us. They will do a relay of problems and relay of hopes. When they become “now” will say that the solution is in the “next generation”. It happens and keep endless.

Therefore, it is time for Muslims to say and indoctrinate himself that he is the present generation who must be present as a solution, not his descendants. True, they will continue, but not just continue their dreams. However, more on continuing the real action that boost achievement of this people.

Hence, his spirit is the spirit of “NOW”. Do it now, from where it’s possible to start. Then do it communally and massively. Learn this “present” spirit from Zuleika, “The wife of al-‘Azeez said, “Now the truth has become evident. It was I who sought to seduce him, and indeed, he is of the truthful.” (Surah Yusuf: 51)

The “now” approach can be more open to an introspective approach than to blame others. With that approach, someone does not focus on the problem or the cause of the problem. He will focus on finding solutions.

See also what Allah gives to those who continue to defend their fighting spirit: ” Now, Allah has lightened [the hardship] for you, and He knows that among you is weakness. So if there are from you one hundred [who are] steadfast, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you a thousand, they will overcome two thousand by permission of Allah . And Allah is with the steadfast.” (Surah Al-Anfal: 66)

Consequently, the problem lies in management of hopes. We should expect to see ourselves directly involved in solving the current problems. Even if it does not happen, then the generation after us will increase their efforts more persistent and harder. This “now” mentality will also compel and dispel the delaying and inferior habits and disbelief in the abilities that Allah gives.

If we look internally, every human being is always provided with privileges by Allah with a myriad of positive potential and achievement. If looking at the external, then someone will put themselves in proportion. He is not arrogant with respect to others (not too superior), nor feel bad compared to others.

This kind of spirit was owned by the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Their graves spread to the corners of the world, because the motivated expansive soul spread the good. They have never feared other than Allah, with all the limitations. They were respected and then opened the door of da’wah and victory for the next generation. Be Umar or Salahuddin who will conquer the injustice in Bait al-Maqdis and surrounding areas. Or at least whisper to this self, will actually witness the presence of Umar or Salahuddin soon. AlLâhu al-Musta’ân.
