Many messages in Al-Quran connecting present life or the past to the future. The future in the world, or later in the afterlife. Someone’s intelligence is measured by the way he equips himself with the long journey. Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Said, “The intelligent person is the one who controls his own soul (calls it to account) and acts (in preparation) for what comes after death…”.
Prophet Ibrahim PBUH prepares for his deep breath well. Some of his prayers recorded in the Qur’an. [And he said], “My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.”(Surah Ash-Shu’arâ’: 83-85)
Prophet Ibrahim PBUH pleaded with wisdom and a good community. Then he wanted his name eternal in the lips of the pious person who pray for him all the time. Being a good speech (lisâna shidqin) which means remembered goodness and prayed forever. And Ibrahim’s prayer was granted by Allah. His goodness is perpetuated all the time. His name lasted until the Day of Resurrection, juxtaposed with shalawat to Prophet Muhammad PBUH. He always called by a believer in every prayer, near the end of every prayer.
To maintain a good name for eternity in the world and in the hereafter, is not necessarily by an act which is considered great or extraordinary. Because, the essence of action is not about great or extraordinary impression. Allah Himself put more emphasis on the quality aspect, which in surah al-Mulk is called ahsanu ‘amala (the best in deed), means not on the form or quantity.
The Qur’an mentions and perpetuates the simple deeds performed by a female ant at the time of reminding the people to enter their house immediately to avoid the forces of Prophet Suleiman PBUH. “Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, “O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.” (Surah an-Naml: 18). The story of his goodness is recorded until the Day of Resurrection. Likewise, the humble attitude andtawadhu (humble, not arrogant) of the Prophet Suleiman enabled by Allah to hear it, is an attitude that is also preserved to be remembered until the end of time.
The role of al-Arqam bin Abi al-Arqam which provided his home as home base of Prophet’s preaching in the early days of Islam. Only that role is recorded. Could be many things done, but his name is eternal with one simple deed. Eternal in the piece of history.
The pilgrimage is called as “ashhurun ma’lûmât” (Surah al-Baqarah: 197) whereas the top procession of the pilgrimage is only a few days, but it is revealed by the Qur’an with “understandable months”. Because the pilgrimage is a process, including the practice of preparing the Day of Judgment. No wonder if the surah al-Hajj at the beginning of its verse did not directly discuss the rituals of Hajj. The beginning of surah al-Hajj discussed the essence of Hajj that is the form of totality of obedience to Allah and preparation for the Day of Judgment.
The events of the Day of Judgment will occur in the land of Sham (ardhul makhsyar wa al-mansyar), around al-Aqsa Mosque. Because all human beings will be resurrected on a totally different of earth, but located in Sham. In some narrations mentioned around the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Hence the connection of Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Aqsa very closely. If now al-Aqsa Mosque is still in colonialism and tarnished with various oppression, then it takes the deeds of Muslims. The deeds may not be great, but he must be sure that his actions have an influence on the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque. With simple deeds it may be the name of a person or his deeds to be eternal until the age of this world is up. That’s why it takes a deep breath to plan a deed that has a wide and lasting influence. Allahu al-musta’ân.
